In 1970, James Snarski graduated from Berklee College of music in Boston, MA. After graduating he performed for three years in the 18th Army Band. Upon returning to his hometown of Manchester, NH in 1973, he took a position teaching elementary band and general music in the Manchester public school system. It was there that Jim gained his extensive knowledge of folk tunes. He began arranging and field testing these songs in his beginner band programs, thus laying the ground work for the “Yankee Collection”. After 30 years of service to his community where he has musically inspired hundreds of students, he retired and began working on the “Yankee Collection” with the hopes of reaching thousands of new young music students every year.
